The music video must feature the band/artist and include a mixture of performance from the band/artist
and narrative structure (for example narrative disruption and/or enigma).
The web pages must promote the band/artist to its target audience and enable fans to interact with
them.
Summary of brief requirements:
• Statement of Intent (approx. 500 words)1
• Music Video: One, three-minute music video.

YouTube and age-appropriate for young adults from the age of 16.
• A number of web pages: One homepage and one linked page.
• Cross-media production target audience: 16–25 ABC1 demographic.
There must be a clear sense of branding across the two elements of cross-media production.
Production detail that must be included
The production of the music video must include (as a minimum):
• Range of camera shots, including shot distances, angles and movement as appropriate to a
music video.

• Shots of the artist or band.
• At least two different mise-en-scĂ©ne.
• At least two characters representing at least two different social groups.
• Graphics/titles to include the name of the track and the name of the band/artist.
The production of the web pages must include (as a minimum):
• Original audio or audio-visual content appropriate to the band/artist’s webpage.
• A minimum of two original images, (with at least one different original image on each of the two
pages) that promotes and reinforces the brand identity of the band/artist(s) (for example these
might feature the band/artist or fans). These images must be different from those produced for the
Music Video Product.
• Appropriate conventions of website design, including an original title and logo for the
band/artist’s webpage and a menu bar.
• Text introducing the band/artist.
• Working links from the home page to the other page.
• A range of appropriate media language techniques (typography, images, fonts, backgrounds,
logos etc.) as appropriate to the purpose of the website.
- To create an emotional, moody music video for Radiohead's Exit Music for a Film https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bf01riuiJWA which draw in elements of a protest with the LGBT pride parades. Also to create a website for a fictional band that is targeted at an audience of 16-25-year-olds who are socially and culturally aware.
- I plan to use Pride parades to create meaning with the lyrics and to create a narrative of two young girls being persecuted for their love for one another.
- The song is neutral in its lyrics, however, paired with visuals to bring attention to LGBT communities and the strife they face will help create a deeper meaning for the audience.
- The website will have elements that allow the audience to interact with the band such as easter eggs, message sections and hashtags that allow for cross-media convergence.
- Use intertextual references to other popular protest music videos to create a sense of gratification for the audience.
